I remember when I was 16 and thinking I have spent half of my life in New Zealand. Now I have been in New Zealand longer than some of the students have been alive in NorthTec. To mark this milestone I have made a video of the places I have lived. You'll have to excuse the audio, I have learnt to use a proper mic rather than inbuilt ones.
After doing the video, which was meant to be just a quick look at the first five years of being in New Zealand, I feel like I need to expand on that more. In the future I will do something more to fully explain and document the first five years of being here.
It will be more for my reference than anything else and it is a good entry into The Book of the Wong Family, which I intend to write as a historical timeline for future generations of our family to look back on. It will include Mum and Dad's stories and myself and my sister's. I do not know my family's history and I do not want my kids and my kids' kids to not know how they came to be where they are.
You might have noticed I have started to take photos of events I have been to and often with the people I went with and started doing a year in recap. It's all aid for when it's time to write my story to pass down. It will be my legacy and hopefully my future generations will continue this.
